7 Special Products I Plan To Include In My Skincare Routine In 2022

Nothing makes me happier than setting my beauty resolutions for the new year. These are the products I’ve had my “eye on” for a while and plan to include in my routine.

In 2022 I will continue my journey with retinoic acid, which my skin is currently not tolerating very well. Retinoic acid is the most potent form of vitamin A and offers amazing anti-aging benefits, faster than retinol. The downside is that it sensitizes the skin, causing dryness and flaking. At some point, however, the skin will get used to this ingredient and develop tolerance. For me, the long-term benefits outweigh the minuses I’m experiencing now.

I apply retinoic acid only once a week, and in the following days I “repair” my skin with moisturizing and emollient serums and creams based on glycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, plant extracts and oils, peptides, etc.

Besides achieving retinoic acid tolerance, I have other beauty resolutions for 2022. Firstly, to take better care of my body skin, which I don’t pay as much attention to. I’ve also developed a fondness for serums and eye creams with potent ingredients, and plan to try something new in 2022. Preventing and treating pigmentation or post-acne spots are other goals I’ve put on my list.

Here are the skincare products I’ll be including in my routine this year:

Halo Beauty Kiwi Skin Booster
The first product is not a cream or serum, but a dietary skin supplement. Although I’ve always been slightly skeptical of supplements, I’ve seen many before and after photos that convinced me to try this product. I also read many reviews, including by biochemists, and came to the conclusion that it’s a product that could work for me.

The formula with vitamins, zinc, macese extract and bromelain, grape seed extract, ceramides, quercetin, etc. helps to decrease inflammation in the skin and fade wrinkles and fine lines. Those who have tried this product say they have gotten rid of acne, post-acne scars, eczema and irritation, and that their skin has become brighter and more hydrated.

It’s not a cheap product and not easily accessible (I ordered it from the US), but if it makes a major difference in the appearance of my skin (especially the inflammation part), then I’ll continue the treatment. Warning: always consult with your doctor before starting any treatment, especially if you are taking other medications or have a chronic condition.

Foreo Skincare Secrets Bear Fuchsia Set
The Foreo Bear device is a serious investment that I’m not sure I’ll make yet, but I’m going to manifest it this year. My anti-aging creams and serums work, but they don’t have the power of a microcurrent machine, which tones facial muscles and gives a lifting effect. “The BEAR™ device uses advanced microcurrent pulses and T-Sonic™ to tone over 65 muscles on the face and neck. The customizable microcurrent facial treatments and patented Anti-Shock™ system make the BEAR device the most effective and safest in the world,” says the manufacturer.

I may not need this device yet, but after 40 years I will definitely try more products in this department.

Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Eye Cream
Any Dr. Dennis Gross product has been on my list for a while, but especially this eye cream with its potent ingredients: antioxidants + retinol. It’s formulated to blur expression lines and dark circles, giving you a bright, refreshed look. Sounds good to me for 2022. The only minus is the price.

Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 30
Supergoop’s SPF products are famous for being easy to apply, have sleek textures and don’t behave like a regular sunscreen. This one in particular has brightening pigments, which give a “delicious” glow to the skin. I don’t usually invest that much in an SPF, but I’d love to try it.

Dior Hydra Life Extra Plump Smooth Balm Mask
I got a sample of this moisturizing mask and loved it, so I plan to introduce it into my skincare routine. Few masks really make a difference, but this one gave me noticeable and immediate results: softer, more hydrated, firmer and brighter skin. Especially now, when I’m dealing with flaking caused by retinoic acid, this product is a big help in healing and repairing my skin.

L’Occitane Amande Shower Oil
I’ve never used high-end shower gels/oils before, but I’d love to in 2022. I don’t moisturize my body skin enough, and it shows. This gentle oil cleanses and moisturizes at the same time, and the scent is divine.

L’Occitane Aqua Réotier
To me, L’Occitane smells like “emotional comfort”. I already have a few mini products from them, and I love them. I also love this ultra-moisturizing body cream, which my skin really needs, especially in the cold season. It has great reviews and I have never been disappointed by this brand.
